Measles Information

Like you, we are concerned about an increase in measles cases in California.

Our providers are receiving frequent updates from local experts as well as the Centers for Disease Control.

Your best protection against measles is vaccination.
Our office has several protocols in place to ensure everyone’s safety.

  1. Until this outbreak is over, we will be asking all people calling for same day appointments if their child has a fever and a rash.
  2. If your child develops a fever AND a rash, PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE FIRST. The ill person should stay home and avoid contact with others pending instructions from our office.
  3. If we do ask you to bring your child to the office, CALL FIRST when you arrive so a staff person can meet you outside. They will give your child a mask and take you directly to an exam room via a different entrance to limit exposure to other patients. You should not wait in the waiting room.
  4. A sign on our door states, “If your child has a rash and fever, please do not come in. Go back to your car and call the office.”
